Everyone remembers Niki Lauda for the serious 1977 accident, when he survived a horrific crash at the Nurburgring and then resigned just as he was about to clinch that year's title. But there is much more to Lauda's career than that. After a very successful career, becoming world champion twice in a Ferrari, the Austrian retired from motor racing in 1978 to launch his own airline company, Lauda Air. When this began to fail in 1982, he returned to Formula One to secure a third title in 1984 with McLaren. He has recently managed the Jaguar team after Lauda Air, on the verge of bankruptcy, was bought by Austrian Airlines. This book describes Lauda's complex career, as well as his debut in motor sports. It also features hundreds of rare photographs.
