Super well-illustrated and detailed biography of Estonian cycling champion Riho Suun. Three Estonian cyclists were awarded the title of Meritorious Master Athlete of the Soviet Union - Aavo Pikkuus, Riho Suun and Erika Salumäe. While several books have been written about Pikkuus and Salumäe, not so far about Suunta. This book brings together the stories of Riho Suun (b 27.04.1960), the best male athlete in Estonia in 1985, and his comrades, teammates and friends, which eloquently highlight the peculiarities of that era, the ruthlessness of the system and the biased worldview. It was a completely different world than it is now. In a totalitarian state, no one had worshipped the athlete's deadly training loads to the coaches of the national team. He could be treated like a machine and thrown on the shelf of second-hand things without the slightest remorse. There was a huge amount of material, if necessary, new experimental animals were found instantly. The book gives us an idea of how people hardened themselves, survived and fought for their place under the sun on a daily basis, rising and falling on a snare in an inhumane system. This is the story of a generation, where the first violin was played by Riho Suun, who was a member of the USSR national team for ten years.
