Well-illustrated entertaining biography of former Netherlands international Willi Lippens
951
Willi "Duck" Lippens is one of the most colorful personalities in German football. He wasn't a player in the conventional sense, but rather the Muhammad Ali of football, who drove his opponents to despair and thrilled spectators by transforming the pitch into a stage. The Dutchman with the waddling gait that earned him the nickname "Duck" played for Rot-Weiss Essen at the Hafenstraße stadium between 1966 and 1976. Three years after his move to Borussia Dortmund, the fan favorite returned to Hafenstraße in 1979 after a stint in the USA with the Dallas Tornado.
